The Supernova Project is part of the wider charity, Chayn, which is an entirely volunteer-led organisation. Our team is made up of queer people (or allies well versed in queer rights). We want to make sure that this platform continuously grows, improves and meets the needs of queer communities. To do that, we need your input! There are a number of different ways you can help.
Join our team
We’re always on the lookout for new volunteers who are passionate about the queer community and building a safe space to talk about domestic violence in these relationships.
We welcome people with all levels and ranges of experience and skills from all around the world. You are free to choose the type of work that you do on the project by signing up to the tasks which appeal to you the most. You can use this as an opportunity to explore areas of interest which you’d like to learn more about, or select tasks to use your current skill set: the key is just to work collaboratively and learn from each other. Writing, research, film making, social media and photography are some areas we are looking in to …or anything else you think would make The Supernova Project extra awesome!
We ask that volunteers be able to commit a minimum of four hours per month to volunteering with Chayn but you are in control of which areas you work on and when. With volunteers located all around the world, the vast majority of our volunteers’ work takes place remotely, online, making it easier to fit in with any other commitments you may have.
Share your story
We would love to share some queer people’s stories on their experience of abuse on this site, to help show others that they are not alone in their experiences or feelings. We believe that sharing real stories will help other people identify abusive partners / family members and the patterns of abuse in queer relationships. We also hope that this will help give a voice to the queer community.
